SADS Foundation :: Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes Foundation

SADS Awareness Month is our annual effort to increase the public's awareness of these potentially fatal arrhythmias. Awareness Month provides an invaluable opportunity to promote awareness nationwide and help save lives.

SADS Awareness Month Goals:

1. School nurses (and/or coaches & administrators) will attend a SADS presentation to learn about SADS conditions, warning signs and screening and will be better able to identify and counsel families at risk for a SADS sudden death.
2. Volunteers at schools in 38 states will distribute materials, hang posters and educate athletic coaches and teachers about SADS conditions, warning signs and screening.
3. Parents in schools will receive information about SADS conditions via the school newsletter, a mailing, or a presentation.
4. School districts will implement the comprehensive program piloted in the Abington School District.
