Fundraising with FirstGiving.com is easy, secure, and free--here are the instructions to help you build your own SADS fundraising webpage and use email to tell friends and family about the campaign
Select the Climb to Conquer SADS to create your SADS fundraising web page.
Enter your personal email address and password to create your account.
Fill in all the information on the form and agree to Firstgiving terms.
Choose a web address that you will send to your friends and colleagues. You can change the name of your web page or use the one they chose for you (a good option is to use your name or your child’s name). Make it “your page”. Then click “Create Your Page”.
Now you are ready to personalize your page! Click the “Edit Your Page” button. to see your web page.
Set a fundraising goal (we suggest $1,000 but---“go for it” if you’re feeling brave and set a larger goal. You can always change it later. Your friends will see the goal you set and may be inspired to help you reach your goal.
We have set up a basic page with a picture of last year’s climbers and a statement about CLIMB and SADS. You can create your own personal message just like you would in a Word document. Putting your family’s or child’s story and photo on the page is a great idea! You can even upload a digital photo and type in a caption.
When you’re done with your page, click the “save and continue” button.
Click
on the "Email your friends"
button to send an email to your friends, family, business contacts, etc.
This email will direct them to your page and ask them to help you reach
your goal.
Change the Subject to "Visit my new page for Climb to Conquer SADS" or anything that
will be interesting to your friends.
Type in your email addresses or upload from your
address book.
Personalize the general message they will receive.
Click the "send" button to email.
