I have a 10 mo old boy who's last EKG read at 3.88. I know very little on the medical info for this, but do know from my pediatric heart specialist that the number to stay below for boys is 4.4.
My nephews from another sister-in-law were given the "clear" mark because they read at 2.6. I will always be cautious of the heart condition risk for my son even if not diagnosed but until he's old enough for the stress test I am just curious if that number is looking closer to the risk or near the safety zone my nephews are in. Anyone out there know of a range for the safety zone?

Your baby's QTc is within normal limits but we know that some people with "normal" QTc numbers still have LQTS. This can sometimes be diagnosed with a stress test as you mention but can also be diagnosed with a genetic test.

If your son's genetic test was positive for LQTS and he still had a normal QTc then his risk is much less. He would still most likely be treated with medication and should not take any of the drugs on the list of drugs to avoid with LQTS.

What is the the normal qt of a 9 year old boy or girl and is there such thing as borderline qt? I have heard many different discussions on there not being such a thing as borderline; you either have or don't. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

My understanding is that "borderline" is basically when they're not certain (without gene testing) if to diagnose, but because numbers are BORDERING the standard for those that have it, they prescribe meds to be safe.
