QT interval following Tachycardia 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi there,

I have Right bundle Branch block.

I was diagnosed with a borderline QT interval a while ago and told to avoid the dugs on the list.

Recently following a run of Tachycardia (which presents as wide complex and looks like VT ) I noticed in the hours after reverting to NSR that my Qt interval was increased up to 490 with a HR generally under 95bpm.

Is it normal for the Qt to elongate further after such an event?

My Dr's keep telling me not to worry about the Qt issue and say I dont have LQTS, but I cant help but worry that my case is so complex that its difficult to see how all of the arrhythmia issue correlate to one another.

Besides that, my eldest daughter just started an antihistamine medication thats on the drug list and it really worries me...

Kind Regards
Fresia

It's normal for your QTc to react to your pulse rate but it should get shorter as your heart rate comes back to normal. How have you been tested for familial LQTS? What about your family history. Your heart condition can be a part of your LQTS but you should also make sure that you don't have the familial LQTS (as you know because you're concerned about your daughter).

If you want to call me directly, I will be happy to talk with you.
