Supporting Families. Saving Lives.
The project is a publically funded program to establish stem cell lines from LQTS patients with the hope of developing a disease model for research and drug screening. At this point we have successfully established a LQT2 patient cell line and are looking to expand the number of LQT3 patients we have in the study. Essentially, we would like to obtain small skin punch biopsies from families with LQT3 to isolate skin cells that will be reprogrammed into stem cells in the same process we used for LQT2.
The project summary posted for the public can accessed here: http://www.cirm.ca.gov/node/471 A YouTube video has also been created to describe this research study, view it here.
