Now Medicare contractors/providers IN YOUR STATE (see below) are in the process of establishing a policy that says Long QT genetic testing is NOT covered. This is not a government decision but is one that is being left to the contractors. In your state the contractor is Wisconsin Physicians Service or WPS.
We have been contacted by both the Association of Molecular Pathologists and the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics to join in a response within the comment period (which in the case of WPS ENDS MONDAY).
SADS is already mobilized to provide a scientific and clinical response. We need you to respond as a family impacted by Long QT. We've prepared a letter for you. Just fill in your contact information and send or customize if and as you like. Thank you! You can help! If you live in one of the States below, click here on the letter to download, customize (if you wish) and send.
